SOMEHOW i found some extra time, and its been quite a while since i made a sculpture.... so i figured id make a new NiGHTS sculpture. took about 7 1/2 hours... it was ok i guess...
i just wanted to make him look like he was just chilling out, and i wanted him to look almost chibi, and cute... so thats why i gave him a somewhat oversized head, and big eyes... i think i did okay.... hes much smaller than my first one... hes about 2 inches tall... i could be off... i find it much easier to make small sculptures... its easier to get all the detail, and its easier to make the shape and maintain it... i finally got the diamond right... took about an hour of cutting clay to try to get the shape, and keep it... the stars were also a particular pain in my ass...and fingers. my other camera sucks... no flash, so yea... and it has low res. ... i couldnt find the other one... but its ok, i'll find it, and maybe make an attempt at a collab with him in all different directions... enjoy. tools used were sculpy III clay, a clay knife, a bit of super glue gel, and my hands and nails.... his head is just a tad too heavy, and needs a bit of support.... (my finger) EDIT: haha! heh, ok, i really don't know how to make a good collab, but hey! at least you get to see him in all different directions now, right? also some lighting. (ignore my giant finger in all of them...) god, im an idiot...  click the download button for a much bigger picture. |
